The MIM’s giving ‘carte blanche’ to some Brussels-based singer-songwriters and producers. The concert hall offers a stage for 3 unique acts with their own character: Elis Floreen, Silke Hamers and Hun Hun. In the Foyer, you can first test your singing talents yourself, under the guidance of professional vocal coach Rebecca Driesmans, after which you can throw your legs loose to the infectious beats of DJ Raph Luchs. And then, of course, there are the 1 200 musical instruments to check out, with or without a multimedia guide!
Mini-concerts at the concert hall from 19:30 until 00:30
Elis Floreen - 19:30, 21:15 and 23:00
Elis Floreen is a contemporary musical artist, songwriter, singer and producer from Limburg, Belgium. Her songs are born out of colourful, intricate, lyrical and unpredictable storytelling. Her childhood household was always full of music from the sixties, seventies and eighties which Elis picked up and now weaves into her songwriting.
Silke Hamers - 20:05, 21:50 and 23:35
Together with gitarist Arto Van Roey, Silke Hamers will be performing a short set of her original songs, merging jazz sounds with rich vocal harmonies and acoustic indie tones. The songs you’ll be hearing originate from her latest EP ‘LOCO-MOTIVE’, as well as some new unreleased tunes, sharing some tastes of her upcoming album.
Hun Hun - 20:40, 22:25 and 00:10
Hun Hun is a Brussels-based electronic music producer duo made up of Jimmy and Noé Moens. They use expressive voices from old turkish b movies to generate mini-odysseys playing with patterns and the repetition of melodies and ancient rhythms. Their compositions are experimental, ambient and timeless.
Singing session and DJ set at the Foyer from 20:00 until 00:30
