In November and December 2024, students from La Cambre's Espace Urbaine workshop turned their gaze to the neighbourhood around the Mont des Arts. The aim was not to work out a new development plan or reflect on urban planning or architectural issues, but simply to discover the site, walk around it, observe it, open the doors of institutions and be inspired by life on and around the Mont des Arts.
The students were welcomed and guided by the asbl Mont des Arts and also visited the former Congress Palace, the Central Station, the streets below Coudenberg, the technical services of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts and the Guild of Crossbowmen. They were invited to use a question, a detail, a story or a material based on these discoveries to develop an original artistic project.
You can discover the result this Christmas holiday in the Art Nouveau foyer at the MIM on the 3rd floor of the Saintenoy building, which is accessible free of charge.
