Mendelssohn and Schubert: two melodic geniuses meet
In the history of music, many child prodigies have come and gone. However, when it comes to precociousness in the field of composition, few can rival Franz Schubert and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Despite the remarkable difference in their careers, both composers devoted a large part of their artistic output to melody. In this concert with commentary, Qian Yang (soprano) and Xiao Dong (piano) will perform Lieder and wordless romances by these two melodic geniuses, demonstrating their different approaches to the same musical genres.
