The SONICO ensemble celebrates the centenary of one of tango’s most enigmatic and innovative figures, Eduardo Rovira. Through a captivating concert, SONICO invites the audience to (re)discover the quiet genius of this unjustly forgotten composer, who devoted his life to music purely for the love of art, without seeking fame or fortune.
Rovira’s 100th anniversary coincides with SONICO’s 10th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the group will embark on a South American tour in April 2025, visiting Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile, culminating in the recording of their fifth album, ROVIRA 100, which will revive two of Rovira’s most iconic records: Sonico (1969) and Que lo Paren (1975). After the South American tour, ROVIRA 100 will be presented in avant-première at the MIM.
