Sculpter le son I Aurélie Charneux

In our way of approaching sound, and learning sound, we mainly favor the parameters of pitch and duration, much less those of intensity and timbre. We focus on the “right or wrong” notes, we have to “be in tune”, we rarely take the time to listen to the vibration of the sound of our instrument or our voice.

Now, if we break away from habits and reflexes a little, sound is a material that we can knead like clay, we can access the different layers of sound, listen to its harmonics, dig into its relief. and shape. By improvising, we can find freedom, also in the relationship to silence, to the end and the beginning of a sound, and therefore its relationship to time and listening.

Clarinetist, composer and improviser Aurélie Charneux will guide you during an improvisation workshop to sculpt your own sound. The workshop is aimed at  musicians aged at least 16 with at least a few years of practice. It is also possible to participate with non-acoustic instruments.
