Fañch Thoraval holds a doctorate in musicology (Paris-Sorbonne) and in social history (Ca' Foscari, Venice). He's specialized in the anthropology of religious music (15th-18th century) and in the study of representations of musical alterity (modern period). He has taught in several European universities and collaborated in several international research projects (Athens, Dijon, Louvain-la-Neuve, Montpellier, Paris, Poitiers, Tours).
